The mhealth Assessment Framework identifies criteria to evaluate mhealth applications and to operationalize them. Therefore, the team analyzed reports, concepts, frameworks and guidelines, mainly of technology sequence, technology acceptance, usability and health. The research project mhealth Assessment Framework Version 2 (MAF V2) followed a design-oriented research. This framework governs 58 criteria of various artefacts to evaluate mhealth applications in a structured, defined and holistic approach; which ensures maximum objectivity. Furthermore, MAF V2 has another purpose of use in a prospective application of the defined artefacts. Those artefacts provide guidance for software designers by using the operationalized quality criteria as a basic set of requirements. On one hand, this research contribute to close a research gap and on the other hand, to outline further research gaps. Derived from the discovered research gaps, the project team defined recommendations action how to develop MAF V2 further and to generate research contribution.
